Kae Newcomb plays with photography and drawing to explore perceptions of time and space. Drawing Room is a floating three-dimensional contour line drawing, created with yarn, nylon strings and shadows, depicting a suspended living room. The delineated furniture forms are simultaneously solid and fragile. A video of an open window with billowing curtains floating in light and a breeze is projected onto the drawing creating an additional drawing of shadows. The atmosphere of the living room invites the viewer to enter. The installation is a reflection on the idea of the impermanence.
