Taking Place

The two series of photographs in the installation Found Objects, created by Michael Fisher, represent the culmination of a dialogue between photographer, camera and place. Rather than a straightforward, objective representation of events, a multitude of meanings arise in the juxtaposition of individual photographs. The narratives that emerge are non-linear and full of mystery. The viewer’s pleasure comes not in figuring out the “who, what, when and where” of the photographic story, but in hanging out in the ambiguity of place, time and event; it’s kind of like real life.
